Who is American Association of Diabetes Educators ?

Who is the AADE?

The AADE stands for the Association of Diabetes Care & Education Specialists, formerly known as the American Association of Diabetes Educators. It is a professional organization devoted to improving prediabetes, diabetes and cardiometabolic care through innovative education, management, and support.

AADE Certification Exams

One of the primary certifications offered by the AADE is the Board Certified - Advanced Diabetes Management (BC-ADM) certification. To take their certification exams, follow these steps:

Step 1: Eligibility and Application

First, you need to ensure that you meet the eligibility requirements for the exam. These can be found on the AADE website. Once you've determined you're eligible, you can apply for the exam online through the AADE website. You will need to provide necessary documentation and pay the relevant fees.

Step 2: Scheduling the Exam

Once your application has been processed and approved, you will receive an Authorization to Test (ATT) email from PSI, AADE’s testing vendor. You then have 90 days to schedule and take your exam.

Step 3: Taking the Exam

The exam is computer-based and can be taken at any PSI Testing Center. There are hundreds of PSI Testing Centers across the country, so you should be able to find a location that's convenient for you. The exam consists of multiple-choice questions covering a range of diabetes-related topics.

Location Information and Website

You can find more detailed information about the exam, including how to find a PSI Testing Center near you, on the AADE website. The website is https://www.diabeteseducator.org/.

Please note that the exam is only administered in English, and special accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities or health-related needs.
