What is PAX?
The PAX, or Pre-Admission Examination, is a standardized test that is often a requirement for admission into certain nursing schools. It is administered by the National League for Nursing (NLN), which is a professional organization for nurse educators. The PAX tests proficiency in three areas: verbal, mathematics, and science.

Step 1: Eligibility and Application
To be eligible to take the PAX, you must be applying to a nursing school that requires it. The application process typically involves registering through the NLN website, where you will provide your personal information and pay the exam fee. After registering, you will receive an Authorization to Test (ATT) email from NLN.

Step 2: Scheduling the Exam
Once you have received your ATT, you can schedule your exam. The PAX is offered at various times throughout the year, and you can take it at a number of testing centers across the United States. You can schedule your exam through the NLN website.

Step 3: Taking the Exam
On the day of the exam, you should arrive at the testing center at least 30 minutes early. You will need to bring a valid, government-issued ID. The exam itself consists of multiple-choice questions and is timed.

Location Information
The PAX exam can be taken at various testing centers throughout the United States. You can find a testing center near you through the NLN website.
