Who is Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission ?

The Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission (NNCC) is an independent organization that promotes the highest quality of care in nephrology through the certification of nurses who specialize in nephrology and dialysis care.

Step 1: Eligibility and Application
Before you can take an NNCC certification exam, you need to meet the eligibility requirements. These requirements vary depending on the specific certification you're seeking, but they generally include a certain amount of experience in nephrology nursing and a current, unrestricted registered nursing license. You can find detailed eligibility requirements on the NNCC's website. Once you meet the requirements, you can submit an application for certification through the NNCC's website.

Step 2: Scheduling the Exam
After your application is accepted, you'll receive an Authorization to Test (ATT) email. This email will include instructions on how to schedule your exam. Exams are administered by PSI, a professional testing company, at locations throughout the United States and can be scheduled online or by phone.

Step 3: Taking the Exam
On the day of your exam, you'll need to arrive at the testing center with valid, government-issued identification. The exam itself consists of multiple-choice questions and is taken on a computer. Once you've finished the exam, you'll receive a preliminary score report immediately. Your official results will be mailed to you within two weeks.

Location Information
NNCC certification exams are administered at PSI testing centers, which are located throughout the United States. You can find the testing center nearest you by visiting PSI's website.
